Giggles will abound with "God Shows the Way" (Berenstain Bears)

The latest three-book collection from the popular Berenstain Bears Living Lights™ series features the cubs at their finest! Written in level one of the "I Can Read" standards, the book includes the titles "Faith Gets Us Through", "Have No Fear, God Is Near", and also "Piggy Bank Blessings". In Faith Gets Us Through, the cubs are ready to earn their Cave Adventure Merit Badges, and with Papa's fearless (but misdirected) leadership, adventure abounds as they make their way through a cave! In "Have no Fear, God is Near", Sister Bear struggles to remember to trust God whenever something spooky startles her. The third book, "Piggy Bank Blessings" finds the cubs learning to save up their money for something special - and Mama finds herself learning something about her cubs as well!

All three of these stories will capture the attention of your children, with their bright and vivid drawings and their engaging plots. Our family favourite is definitely "Faith Gets Us Through", as Papa is just so certain that he knows EVERYTHING about caves...and then they all find themselves in quite the humorous situations, one after another! This collection of stories will not only entertain your young readers, but they will impart valuable lessons along the way...without the readers even realizing it! I love the Bible verses included with the books, ones that little minds can grasp onto. My children were able to easily understand the truths contained in the pages of the story, especially the one about not being afraid because God is always by our side. That is a truth that adults need to learn along with children! Developing readers will appreciate the simple language these stories are written in, while being challenged to increase their skills as well. All in all, "God Shows the Way" is a wonderful addition to your home library, and one sure to please parents and children alike.

I, and my children, give this book a solid rating and award it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

 about the authors....

Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he starteddrawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005, and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from the family home and studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.
