about the book....

A murdered partner. A missing brother. Will Isabelle's silence protect those she loves . . . or delay justice?

Police officer Isabelle St. John loves her crazy, loud, law-enforcement family. She knows they'll be there for her when things get tough. Like when her partner is murdered and she barely escapes with her own life.

Izzy is determined to discover exactly what happened, and her investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization, possibly with cops on the payroll--including someone from her own family. With her dead partner's brother Ryan, a handsome homicide detective, shadowing her every move, Izzy's head is spinning. How can she secure justice for her partner when doing so could mean sending someone she loves to prison? And how will she guard her heart when the man she's had a secret crush on for years won't leave her side?

my review....

In a word? Wow!

Book one of Eason's new "Blue Justice" series explodes into action from the get-go, and things don't let up from there. Eason keeps up the pace from one minute to the next, drawing readers into the events of the story with an expert hand. The novel sits firmly in the realm of romantic suspense, but from this male reader's point of view, the romance is given just the right touch as Izzy and Ryan race to uncover who is culpable in Ryan's brother's murder, finding the promise of future love along the way. Whether you are a fan of romance or not, if suspense is your thing, "Oath of Honor" has you covered. The scenes crackle with tension, and just when you feel like you are catching your breath, another unexpected plot twist is thrown in to keep you on the run along with these characters. My only fault with the book is that the first few chapters introduced tons of names and characters, and sometimes you didn't find out how Izzy or Ryan were connected to that character until the next chapter (for example, with how Gabby enters the story). Besides that one minor fault, I enjoyed every moment of this book, and finished it in record time. Izzy in particular is a likeable character, as she is brave, thinks well on her feet, and has a ton of integrity in every area of her life. Readers will find much to celebrate in this story!

"Oath of Honor" is an excellent start to what is sure to be an amazing series. The suspense will keep you riveted to the pages, while the characters themselves will engage your heart as they persevere through some tough circumstances. I award this story a very solid 4.5 out of 5 stars, and definitely recommend it for those looking for a romantic suspense.
